Tyler Erhard

Tyler Erhard, 21, poses with two guitars and a guitar case in the bedroom of his house in Newton, NJ on Wednesday, March 18, 2015.  Erhard, who has been playing the instrument for the past eight years, says he first became interested in playing because “my mom had a few guitars and I wanted to learn an instrument.”

Erhard takes his acoustic guitar out of its case and prepares to play it.  His musical talents have led to him to be a part of two bands, An Ocean’s Glance and My Eyes Fall Victim.

Erhard strums a few notes on his electric guitar while sitting on the amp next to his bed.  His bands have been fortunate enough to play with established acts such as Mayday Parade, Emarosa, and Silverstein over the years.

A wall of band posters surrounds Erhard as he plays in his room.  While a member of An Ocean’s Glance and My Eyes Fall Victim, he has played shows in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, and Maryland.

Erhard poses for a close-up portrait with his guitar.  He is currently a music composition major at Montclair State University in New Jersey and hopes to create soundtracks for films and video games one day.
