Bailey Hayek- Wide Medium Tight: Terps Vs. UMass March 1, 2014

The Terps take bat in the second inning at Bob "Turtle" Smith Stadium in College Park on Saturday in the first game of the series against the University of Massachusetts Minutemen. The University of Maryland beat the Minutemen 4-0.

Alpha Sigma Phi Fundraiser (Evan Sery)

The KMF fundraiser drew many people to Chipotle. During prime dinner hours, between 7-8 PM, the line was out the door and nearly every table was occupied. The KMF Classic is a 3 on 3 basketball tournament that will be held on March 29th at the Comcast Center.  

University of Maryland students Adam Goldfarg (Junior), Connor McDermott (Junior), and Joe Gibian (Junior) enjoy Chipotle during their fraternity fundraiser event in honor of their late brother, Kennedy Michael Fitzgerald. 

A flyer for the Alpha Sigma Phi fundraiser for their 7th annual philanthropy event, the KMF Classic. Anyone that brought the flyer to Chipotle from 6-9 PM on Tuesday, March 4th, was guaranteed that 50% of their proceeds would go to one of several charities.

Virginia Tech vs. Maryland Basketball Game

Annapolis CSA - photojournalism homework

Groundworks Farm of Pittsville, Md., brings the weekly haul of seasonal produce and pasture-raised meat to Annapolis, Md., on March 1. Members in their Community Sustainable Agriculture (CSA) program may take home over 15 pounds of vegetables weekly and 20 pounds of meat monthly. 

Margaret Evans, co-owner and manager of Groundworks Farm, runs the Annapolis pick-up location, which operates between 9 and 12 p.m., every Saturday. Members discover what they'll take home upon arrival but many enjoy the challenge of experimenting with foods they wouldn't necessarily buy at the grocery store.

The first Saturday of the month is the big meat take-home for the winter farm share; members pick out selections of grass-fed meat including lamb, beef and pork as well as two full chickens. The large variety of cuts, ranging from pork chops to sirloin steaks, are intended to last throughout the month, according to Evans.

Students and adults craft beads from magazine cut-outs at the "Portraits for Social Change" exhibit in the Stamp Student Union on Tuesday, while students and gallery roamers admire the portrait works of UMD student, Melanie Oppenheimer.

Maryland Filmmaker's Club Casting Call

Student directors of amateur short films set up tables in the Prince George's room in STAMP on Saturday evening, March 1. Interested actors came and auditioned for various roles, rotating through each director's films. The event was open to the public, and no acting experience was required to audition.

University of Maryland student Belton Delaine-Facey (right) holds auditions for his film "A Non-Romantic Comedy." It is Delaine-Facey's first time directing a film with the Maryland Filmmaker's Club. Amateur actor Yari Jamali (left) auditions for a role.

The script for "Broccoli Hands," one of the student films produced by the Maryland Filmmaker's Club this semester. Student directors provided actors with copies of their scripts to read for various parts.
