Wide, Medium, Tight Shots

This weekend I visited the Kane Furniture Bank, a warehouse owned by Office Movers, Inc., that distributes donated furniture to non-profit organizations at no cost. I wrote about the furniture bank for a Patch.com article and took photos for the story. Here are my examples for this week's assignment:

Wide Shot

Tanya Taylor, the executive director of Teen Moms Fresh Start, scans the shelves for furniture March 10. The Kane Furniture Bank warehouse in Rockville, Md., is stacked floor to ceiling with desks, chairs, and file cabinets donated by Office Movers clients.

Medium Shot

Warehouse worker James DeMar prepares chairs for loading. Office Movers will deliver furniture to a nonprofit at an affordable price and employees will unload the furniture at no extra charge.

Tight Shot

Each client receives a roll of colorful stickers for tagging items. This chair was claimed by the non-profit Adopting Together. Only a half hour after the furniture bank opened, dozens of tables and chairs were already spoken for.

...and a surprise shot for fun:

Kevin Ferguson, the education director for Adventist Community Services of Greater Washington, seems out of place among the chairs surrounding him on the shelf. Although clients were encouraged to ask warehouse workers for help, Ferguson begins lifting chairs from the shelf down to his friend Yacouba Sanogo, the president of World Citizen Coalition for Children, to furnish their offices.
