Horseback Riding at Holland Hills Farm

Stormy is a four-year-old thoroughbred.
Stormy wears a bridle, which consists of a headstall, bit and reins to help his rider direct, as well as a saddle where his rider will sit.
Renee Michele, a 24-year-old from New Jersey, is the owner of Stormy.
Michele prepares for an afternoon workout with Stormy at Holland Hills Farm in Mahwah, NJ.
Michele tightens the saddle securely around Stormy's back before mounting the horse.
Michele and Stormy warm up with a trot, a two-beat diagonal gait, around the outdoor dirt riding ring.
Michele begins jumping Stormy with a two rail oxer jump.
Michele approaches the two rail oxer jump from the opposite side to make sure that she has full control of Stormy. According to Michele, Stormy is stubborn sometimes and refuses the jump.
While jumping, Michele works on her 2-point jumping position. Going into the 2-point position the wrong way could damage a horse's neck so this skill is necessary for equestrian jumpers.
After their workout, Michele cools down Stormy by walking him around the riding ring and giving him a pat on the neck.
