A Day in the Life of A Maryland Student-Athlete
Women's Volleyball

Sophomore, Amy Dion, tries to fall back asleep after pressing snooze on her alarm in hopes that she can get a few more minutes before heading to strength and conditioning at 8 a.m.

Kelsey Hrebenach, (sophomore) walks to her sociology class at 9 a.m. after just finishing her lift at Comcast an hour earlier.

Kelsey quickly gets on her scooter after her classes to make it to practice on time at 12:30 p.m. at Comcast Center.

Kelsey walks into Comcast to get changed and ready for practice that is about to start soon.

Amy does ultrasound on her knees before practice because she has chondromalacia in both knees and cannot make it through a practice without heat, ultrasound, and stem.

The volleyball team gets into the gym at 12 p.m. starting to warm up and practice until 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday. The team plays in this same gym on the weekends during their home matches.

Kelsey goes in to talk to assistant coach, Audrey Ludwig, about what she needs to improve on so she can have an even better performance for the next practices and matches.

After practice, Kelsey goes to study hall and signs in to start working on her homework for the week. Kelsey is required to complete eight hours of study hall each week.

Academic advisor, Mark Fusiak, talks to Kesley about what classes she needs to take in the spring in order to stay on track with her communication degree requirements.

Amy comes back to her room after finishing study hall. She finishes up some homework at her desk before getting ready for bed.

Amy lays in bed and catches up on some reading and a little bit of down time before going to sleep. She ends up falling asleep only after ten minutes of reading, for the tiring and busy day finally caught up with her.
