Permeable Interlocking Concrete Presentation

David Smith, technical director of the Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute, gives a presentation to members of the University of Maryland community on Oct. 14. The institute focuses on making cities better and more efficient.

Smith gives the audience some background on the system. Permeable pavement is a fairly new phenomenon that drains streets and handles runoff, Smith says.

An audience member takes notes during the lecture in the Plant Sciences Building. Attendees range from landscape architecture students, to engineers.
